Last Friday saw our second # CamMama event at the wonderful Pint Shop, we love it there, great food, great gin, great space – perfect! We started these events over Christmas as a way to bring together local parents and treat them to some good pampering, fun and creativity, as a little breather from everyday mamahood.
We wanted our Spring event to be all about making us all feel great, so we were thrilled to bits when Lush offered to pamper us all. We have some hardcore Lush devotees here at BWC and Lauren and Amanda gave us the full Lush experience. We donned purple gloves and made butter bombs (their most gentle bomb using Fair Trade cocoa butter), the kids loved stirring the mixture and we were all making like pros in no time each getting one (at least) to take home. We got to smell all the heavenly massage bars and choose our favourite scent for a super-relaxing hand and arm massage from the girls – then they set us loose on each other while we tucked into some delicious Pint Shop fancies!
Some might say knives glue guns and babies don’t mix but not us! So when Steph from The Trove Cambridge offered to host a Floral monogram workshop it was perfect! All our guests got to decorate their chosen initial under the expert guidance of Steph, Steph is passionate about encouraging creativity and The Trove has incredible information of local designers, makers, workshops and events – so go check it out.
We couldn’t host an event at The Pint Shop without gin, and no less than the Cambridge Distillery special P Gin, made especially for the Pint Shop (being on Peas Hill of course). Poor young Sam was faced with group upon group of excited gin-thirsty mamas and handled us perfectly. Full of knowledge we got a wonderful P & T but also to smell the other specialist gins including the Ant gin and tried a tiny pipette of 40% proof distilled ant no less! All before midday.
Last but not least the goodies! We took the goody bags to another level this event thanks to the wonderful talents of Alex (one half of WeThreeClub) who created our brand new logo. We were lucky to feature incredible goodies including Rawr Chocolate from Cambridge Artisan the incredible local foodie gift box service (don’t forget your first order code on their flyer P.S. they do gin too!). Yummy popcorn from Propercorn – we went a bit nuts for the almond butter flavour! Another local Narynda skincare who makes the most incredible baby oil and balm gave us samples and a special discount code. Finally Simplee Aloe delivered us healthy hydration that our kids loved as much as us and even extra goodies from Lush! (Wow)
