Harrods Christmas Hampers

It’s that most wonderful time of the year! I start getting excited about Christmas straight after Remembrance Sunday, although Joel does impose a strict 1st December ban on festive films! So we were thrilled when we got the excuse to get in the spirit early with Harrods Christmas hampers. This time it was The Grosvenor, not least does it include Benedict, the 2015 Christmas bear (who we knew our girls would love), but a drool-worthy combination of treats and savouries. When the enormous box arrived we knew we were going to have fun…

Flavoured with sweet clementine, these all-butter biscuits are made with real honey and finished with a festive golden sparkle.
Butter-pastry mince pies are made even more tempting with tartly sweet cranberries.

When you lift the lid of the stunning hamper the gold messaging welcomes you to the ‘ultimate gastronomic indulgence’, and they’re not wrong. We’ve tried a lot of mince pies in our time, and Harrods mince pies are another level of good. They kicked us off tasting all the festive delights in our glittery grotto. Highlights for us included the cocoa-dusted almonds, gold-dusted biscuits (Sian loves a bit of extra festive sparkle), salted caramel fudge and of course the aroma of all the spices in the tea and coffee was true indulgence!

Pure Arabica coffee, with cinnamon, hazelnut and chocolate flavourings for a festive feel.

Christmas Mustard, Spiced Pear & Madagascan Vanilla Jam and Salted Caramel & Ginger Fudge

We had so much fun tasting and imagining the joy on people’s faces if they were lucky enough to receive one – all the elements had such theatre and decadence. You know it’s the kind of treat that deserves your very best serving plates, gold spoons and of course our favourite gold pineapples. We paired ours with a spiced ginger fizz mocktail to really get us in the mood. As you can probably tell we love a foodie gift at Christmas!

* We were invited to review the hamper, but all opinions are our own.
