When Pippa got in touch offering us the chance to experience the new Hotpod Yoga in Willingham we were intrigued by these big black bouncy-castle like hot pods and the thought of having some sweaty exercise – we all wanted to go, and Pippa kindly welcomed us one frosty Sunday morning last week.
We’ve all dabbled in yoga over the years but haven’t done any for the longest time so we jumped at the opportunity to join Hotpod yoga for a Sunday morning session. The pod itself looked so cool and the 37 degree heat was most welcome from the frosty fields outside! It was nice to see the class full and the dark warmth of the pod and its music was relaxing and comforting, plus the scent of eucalyptus made this feel good for the mind and body – and probably covered the smell of sweat nicely too! The session was hard work, a vinyasa base which meant you learnt a flow of positions – scaled it up or down to your ability and repeated this as your base, building up elements, but it made it almost hypnotic! Pippa was lovely and a confident teacher explaining all positions thoroughly. We left feeling calm, supple and energised. We knew we were going to ache but we’ll most definitely be back for more.
Due to popularity there are now two sessions on Sunday and classes 7 days a week – make sure to check out their website for the timetable, they have a great app too for super easy booking. You can get your first 3 classes for £15 which we think is an absolute bargain for that hour of hard work, relaxation and feel-goodness (not a word sorry), just get a class pass and get booking. We’ll see you there!
