Yogurt is a big part of any kiddie-led household and mine is no exception. While fromage frais is a mainstay I am always aware that there is more sugar going in than protein, and that’s not going to get them through morning without demanding snacks! Equally I try and keep my dairy to a minimum but so love granola, fruit and yogurt in the morning. So trying our Alpro Go On in plain has been a bit of a revelation for me in both respects – it’s a dairy alternative for me and gets the protein in the girls without them even knowing.
We tried it in so many ways over the past few weeks – on top of our chicken curry, with berries alongside American pancakes, mashed into our avo and toast, in our go-to healthy satay sauce for stir frys and of course, the good old fashioned fruit and granola combo.
The flavour completely won me over – it is the creamiest plain yogurt I’ve tried, with honey undertones to my palate (this does mean it’s not ideal for making into sour cream or tzatziki but again, we tried both this week and still enjoyed them – it just doesn’t have the tartness they need from a yogurt).
Alpro Go On is definitely going to be a mainstay on our shopping list from now on – it is the most versatile yogurt we’ve tried and we’re now thinking up even more recipes we can use it in!
